Choosing The Greatest Bay Area Architectural Photographer

By Elaine Guthrie

Some people believe that as long as someone has a good camera the pictures they take will be good also. This is one of the many misconceptions that could lead to you losing a lot of money. The truth is that the gifts of photographers usually vary widely. A great photographer has a way with the lighting and has to have knowledge of design. Photographers also have specialties. Some that take good wedding photographs cannot take the best architectural photographs and you need to look for a qualified bay area architectural photographer for that work.

You are running a business and the best way to keep the profit margins high is by keeping your costs as low as possible. One way of ensuring this is by always selecting a photographer that does not ask for royalty for the photos he took. Some of them usually ask for royalty every time their picture is used and these usually add up to your costs greatly.

Apart from being great at taking the actual picture having an extra skill cannot hurt. Some of these skills include retouching a photo and enhancing them. Some of the great photos especially those taken using a digital camera have been retouched. This usually is just a way of making a great photograph look even better using. This is by using some special effects.

Experience is one of the factors that you need to consider. You have to ask them how long they have been in business. With experience comes wisdom. This is because if they have experience it is likely that they have in the past solved some problems that newbies have not. The experience has to be that of taking architectural photographs.

Most photographers usually sell stock photos. It is just a way for them to make a little more money. Sometimes the photos they sell are those they took for a client. Since you do not want your photos t be sold you should make sure that the one you choose does not sell stock photos. You can also ask around from previous clients for more information.

Their client list can tell a lot. It will tell if he is any good or if he is not. If he usually works for large companies shows that he is more established and that he takes good quality photos. For the new ones in the business they do not have large companies in their client list they have small companies. This shows that either they are not that established or that their work is not that good.

A photographer might have a busy schedule but that should not be an excuse for them not to respond to your emails and calls. It is understandable if he does not pick you call but he should respond as soon as he can.

You should also ask around to know his reputation. He should meet tight deadlines without giving an excuse and he should be easy to work with and not give you a hard time.
